Dachshund VIII
A trifle unnerving, this anthropomorphic rendering of a red smooth-haired dachshund parodies Holbein the Younger’s full length Portrait of Henry VIII, c.1637. Since the original painting was lost to fire in 1698, it is possible (though unlikely), that of all the copies made over the last three hundred years, this version most closely resembles Holbein’s rendering of the ginger-haired Tudor King.
Printed to the highest standard on heavyweight paper, the subtle sheen and lightly textured finish to the cards brings out the richness of the original colours. Supplied with a recycled paper envelope and sent in plastic-free, recyclable packaging.
